Hi, I’m James, a product builder in San Francisco.
Lately, I’ve been exploring a new thesis: the next big opportunities will come from new hardware powered by new software.
Agentic coding is creating an oversupply of software, while existing platforms have been oversaturated for years. Much of that new software will spill over into entirely new kinds of computers, consumer electronics, and physical products.
So today, I’m focused on building software experiences for new kinds of devices.
Over the past decade, I’ve built products at big tech companies and startups, focusing on new consumer experiences on iOS. I’m most at home early in a product’s life, when ideas are still taking shape and everyone is collaborating freely across design and engineering.
If you think there’s an opportunity for us to work together, I’d love to hear from you.
Current projects
- Omarchy Watch
I’m building my own smartwatch as a companion to the Omarchy desktop. It pairs a menu bar panel with custom firmware for an ESP32-S3 development board to bring agentic coding to your wrist in style.
- disruptive.toys
I write field notes on products that harness emerging technologies. It’s my way of both studying the choices that let their builders pull the future forward and developing a better feel for where things are headed.
- Lorrie
I built an iPhone app that lets you capture anything in the real world as a 3D model. I’m exploring how the latest multimodal and 3D generation models can power a new kind of consumer experience.
